Police asking for witnesses to come forward in fatal motorcyclist accident

MONROE (WXYZ) - Police are asking for witnesses to come forward in a fatal Monroe County motorcycle accident.

It happened around 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the intersection of W. Seventh St. and S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe.

Preliminary investigation reveals the accident occurred when a pick up truck that was traveling eastbound no W. Seventh St. attempted to turn left onto northbound S. Telegraph Rd. That is where the two vehicles collided.

The motorcyclist sustained significant injury. and was transported to Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released at this time.

Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Cpl. Daryl Tamsen of the Monroe Police Department at 734-243-7500.
