Special jobs fair, auto supplier needs hundreds of drivers

Auburn Hills, Mich. (WXYZ) - Up to 400 jobs are available for people interested in testing pre-production vehicles for wear and tear.

Reliance One of Auburn Hills is doing the hiring for an unnamed tier one auto supplier. The company is holding a special jobs fair to hire between 200 and 400 people over the next month.

First and second shift positions will pay $8.25 an hour, and drivers could start as soon as October 4th.

Candidates need to be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record with no more than 2 points .

Additionally, the drivers will need to pass a drug screen, a criminal background check and a written driving test.

The drivers will also need be able to handle vehicles with manual transmissions

The program starts Monday October 4th. Additional drivers will be added for shifts that will likely extend into the spring of 2011.
