INDEPENDENCE TWP., Mich (WXYZ) - A 43-year-old Independence Township man was arrested Saturday morning in connection with an attempted break-in at Kid Rock's house.
Oakland County Sheriff's detectives say they made the arrest after two tips came into the Sheriff's dispatch center identifying the suspect.
The attempted break-in took place at Kid Rock's Independence Township home on Wednesday, July 31.
Kid Rock posted a surveillance photo on his website , saying the man trespassed, destroyed his property and tried to break into his house.
The suspect escaped in a white van and was last seen in the area of M-15 and Hubbard Road just north of I-75 in the Clarkston area.
In a Saturday afternoon statement, the Oakland County Sherrif's office said, "The man is being lodged at the Oakland County Jail and his 1994 Ford Club Wagon van which he used to force open the gated driveway to the property has also been recovered and impounded."
Kid Rock was offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned Monday.
