PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) - The Michigan Film Office will not confirm or deny the reports, but sources tell Action News we can almost count on seeing Johnny Depp taking the yellow brick road to Michigan.
The buzz around town began Wednesday that Depp will be filming the new wizard of oz movie by the almost finished Raleigh Studio at the site of the former Pontiac GM Plant after they submitted their semi-annual report to the state.
The report only reveals that a production company called Emerald City Films has been approved for tax credits. The word has it they will be filming a movie called “Oz” which is a prequel to “The Wizard of Oz”. Rumor has it that Johnny Depp is negotiating for the lead role.
