SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - Southfield police say a man brandishing a semi-automatic handgun robbed the Cellular Connection store Friday Morning.
Lt. Nick Loussia says a man looked through the windows of the store, located at the corner of 10 Mile and Evergreen, as if to see how many people were inside. He then entered the store, where a lone female clerk was working.
The suspects brandishes a silver semi-automatic handgun and ordered the clerk to give him the money in the register.
After she complies, the suspect then ordered the woman to give him the iPhones. She takes him to a back room where they are locked in a safe. After getting more than half a dozen phones, police say the suspect tied the clerk's hands using zip ties. Investigators says she was able to wiggle out of the ties and text her manager, who called police for help.
At this time, police are working to locate the suspect who is described as dark-complected black man in his late 20's or early 30's. He is about between 5'5"-5'7" tall, and has a medium build.
He was last seen wearing a dark, puffy winter coat, glasses, black boots and a beanie knit cap. Anyone with information should contact police.
