ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) - It's time to make your Labor Day plans! You'll want to make sure you check out the musical acts and restaurants at Royal Oak’s Arts, Beats & Eats festival.
Macy Gray, Candlebox, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Clint Black join some of Detroit’s best local bands and a delicious food menu.
In all, the festival will feature more than 170 bands performing on 10 stages located throughout downtown Royal Oak. In addition to the headlining national bands, local favorites like the Hard Lessons, the Twistin Tarantulas, the Orbitsuns, Prussia and Silverghost are slated to perform.
More than a dozen Royal Oak restaurants join about 40 additional food vendors and restaurants from metro Detroit and beyond. Arts, Beats & Eats organizers say no food item will cost more than $5.
More than 130 artist booths will show a large selection of wares by artisans of all types. An array of family events including performances by clowns, music for children and arts and crafts areas will also be featured.
The festival runs Friday, September 3 through Monday, 6, 2010 and will cost $3 each day. You can save $1 on admission by purchasing tickets in advance from artsbeatseats.com . The website also has VIP concert seating passes and discounted food tickets for sale.
