Birmingham - BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WXYZ) - Hundreds of people on bicycles came together to pay tribute to Kevin Degen, following his funeral today.
Degen raised thousands of dollars over the years by riding his bicycle during the summer months on behalf of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan and the M-S Society of Michigan. He recently rode from Traverse City to Chelsea during the Make-A-Wish 300.
Kevin made it a point to help others despite his own personal challenges. Kevin suffered from cerebral palsy and rode all those miles with the use of only one arm and one leg.
Recently, Kevin suffered a serious bike accident that damaged his good arm. He died August 10 and his funeral was held at Holy Name Church in Birmingham.
Following the service, hundreds of Kevin's friends and others touched by his generosity came together to pay tribute to him. They led a procession from the church to his burial place at White Chapel cemetery in Troy.
