TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) - A woman is facing possible charges after being found intoxicated while carrying a small child and wandering in traffic in the area of Troy Center and W. Big Beaver Road.
The woman was reported to police shortly after 5:30 on September 27.
Officers approached the woman and spoke with her. They say she had an abrasion on her forehead and could not explain how she got there.
The woman told police she was babysitting the child for her best friend. The child was not hurt.
Police contacted the child's mother. She told police that she had recently met the woman at the hospital and that the woman had a drinking problem.
The child's mother also told police she was trying to help the woman with her problems.
The woman was released pending further investigation.
