FRANKLIN, Mich. (WXYZ) - A Franklin couple is hoping their loss will spare others from heartbreak.

Veronica and Sean McNally lost their three-month-old baby girl Francesca a couple of weeks ago.

The baby had whooping cough, a highly contagious bacterial disease also known as pertussis.

Veronica believes she gave the illness to her daughter, and she wants adults to make sure they take their booster shots, something Veronica believes she never had.

The McNally family has now formed a foundation called frannystrong.org to promote vaccine awareness.
