BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WXYZ) - A city known for its pet-friendly ways is cracking down on an owner whose dog is accused of killing another pet.
Moses Fram was walking his girlfriend’s Maltese mix on June 10 when it was brutally attacked by a neighboring dog in the 800 block of Hazel in Birmingham.
“There was a Doberman greyhound on the loose,” said Fram. “This dog came out of nowhere and just grabbed him by the neck, and mauled him to death.”
The dog, Dolce, was killed after the bigger dog sunk its teeth into his neck. Fram and the other owners tried to pry the dog off the smaller animal, but it was no use.
“I’m not necessarily eye for an eye,” said Fram, “but the right thing has to happen and that’s whatever it takes to ensure that this never happens again.” He says criminal charges are expected to be filed against the other owners.
Action news attempted to reach the other owners, but no one was home at the time.
