ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) - You can find out whether your child's toys have toxic chemicals at a free testing event happening Thursday.

The Ecology Center and the Sierra Club are hosting the event at Whole Foods Market in Rochester Hills, located at 2918 E. Walton.

Parents can bring in any type of consumer product to be tested for harmful chemicals. Products will be scanned for lead, cadmium, toxic flame-retardants and other toxins.

Parents can also learn how to reduce their family's exposure to toxic chemicals in other products.

The event runs from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and is free to attend.
