During a news briefing, officials told 7 Action News that four people have died as a result of a small plane crash at Oakland County International Airport.
Officials say the three people were dead on the scene and a fourth person died at the hospital.
Three men and one woman were on the plane.
The plane reportedly took off from the airport around 1:40 p.m. and reached about 100 feet. At that point, the pilot asked the tower for permission to turn around. That's when the plane crashed.
Firefighters and EMS were on the scene in seconds.
Oakland County International Airport is the second busiest airport in the state of Michigan. These were the first fatalities at the airport since an accident back in 2006.
