PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) - When teen boys approached Serena Inglsbee’s lemonade stand, she and her two stepsisters just wanted to sell a few more cups of $1 lemonade. They didn’t expect the teens to reach for the jewelry box storing all of their money.
That’s just what happened last Sunday in Pontiac. Nine-year-old Serena says she was “angry and upset” by the three young thieves.
“He grabbed the jewelry box with all of the money in it and took off down the road,” describes Serena.
Her stepfather, Keith Aldrich, was appalled. He contacted police and filed a report on the theft of the girls’ $42.
“I just wanted these kids to have justice,” said Aldrich who credited the Pontiac police for a quick response.
After learning of the story, Action News was able to make the summer a little sweeter for Serena and her family. Tuesday, they were presented with passes to the Cedar Point amusement park.
So, will the lemonade stand continue to serve the people of Pontiac?
You bet!
Serena and the girls plan on selling more lemonade on July 31.
