DETROIT(WXYZ) - Tom Nardone of "Extreme Pumpkins" shared tips on how to make a unique jack-o-lantern just in time for Halloween.

Nardone has written books on pumpkin carving and also shares tips and photos on his website at Extremepumpkins.com

The Troy native is also taking part in the "Zoo Boo" event at the Detroit Zoo. He'll be on hand to carve special pumpkins next Friday, October 26 from 6pm until 8pm.

The event runs October 20-21 from 6pm - 8pm and October 26-28 from 6pm-8pm. Tickets are $7 in advance and if tickets are not sold out the day of, they'll be $10 at the gate.
