BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WXYZ) - Fire investigators are looking into what caused a fire at a Birmingham home on Christmas Day.

Neighbors tell 7 Action News the blaze broke out just before 1 p.m. at a home on the 600 and 700 block of Kennesaw.

Firefighters say the back of the home has been destroyed, but the family living inside was able to make it out safely.

When Birmingham firefighters arrived, they say they were able to get the flames and smoke under control quickly.

Bloomfield Hills firefighters assisted in the effort.

Neighbors captured photos (seen here) as the home's garage caught fire and flames lept high into the air.
