FARMINGTON HILLS (WXYZ) - A Farmington Hills group home resident was arrested after he allegedly attacked an employee who caught him smoking in his room.

The resident, 57, is now facing multiple felonies including Assault with Intent to Murder.

Police say the employee sustained serious burns on his upper body when the resident attacked him with a hot liquid believed to contain bleach and possibly cooking oil.

This happened Saturday around 10:50 a.m. Sources told 7 Action News the resident also went after the worker with a knife.

The victim is recovering in the burn unit of a local hospital. He was injured by the knife.

The suspect has been arraigned and bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety bond.
