FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., (WXYZ) - Farmington Hills Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a pond.

The woman has been identified as 82-year-old Marjorie Caruthers. Her body was discovered shortly before 8:00 am in a pond behind the homes on Clear Lake Drive near 9 Mile and Halsted Road.

Officers say a woman's coat and medical identification were also found on the shore.

Her son tells 7 Action News he is shocked at the news.  His mom had mentioned that she had been having trouble sleeping, and was using sleeping pills.  He wondered if they could have left her sleepwalking or confused.

" She was the sweetest person.  She would do anything for anybody," said her son Brad Caruthers.
