FARMINGTON, Mich. (WXYZ) - 7 Action News has learned new information today about the murder of a Farmington woman over the weekend.

Sources say Kaitlin Hehir, 29, was not only killed, but her body was dismembered. It all happened in the house she just moved into on Colchester in Farmington.

An autopsy performed Monday confirmed Hehir's cause of death was strangulation.

According to sources, Hehir's boyfriend confessed to having a heated argument with her. He allegedly hit her in the face with a glass and choked her.

Her boyfriend orginally reported her missing, then changed his story. He is in police custody and is not being named until he has been officially charged.

Hehir worked at 47th District Court in Farmington Hills as a court clerk. Her co-workers are mourning her loss. Because of her connection here, the criminal case against her boyfriend will have to be moved to another court.

A staff meeting was held at the courthouse Monday morning to inform co-workers. Grief counselors are available. The court administrator tells 7 Action News that the judges here are recusing themselves when the murder case is brought in, meaning it will have to be moved to another nearby court.

Formal charges against the boyfriend could come Monday afternoon.
