FARMINGTON, Mich. (WXYZ) - Sources tell 7 Action News that police are investigating a murder in Farmington.
The scene is in the 23000 block of Colchester. That's near 10 Mile and Orchard Lake Road.
Police say the were investigating reports of a missing 26-year-old woman when they checked the house and discovered her body.
They found her at around 10:00 pm Saturday.
The woman's boyfriend was at home at the time when police arrived to investigate the missing persons report.
He reportedly told officers that he had not seen the woman since shortly after midnight on February 22. Officers say he told them that she had dropped him off at home and then left to return to a party.
Officers then contacted friends of the victim who told them that she had left the party to pick her boyfriend up from work and that they had not heard from her since then.
It was then that officers checked the home for signs of foul play and found what appeared to be bloody plastic.
Police then detained the woman's boyfriend. Officers say that, during an interview with detectives, the man confessed to having an argument with the woman that turned physical.
Officers then obtained a search warrant for the home and discovered the woman's body.
The boyfriend was arrested and is expected to face charges. The 7 Action News team has learned that the murder victim was a clerk at the 47th District Court in Farmington Hills--the same place where her boyfriend may be arraigned.
