NOVI (WXYZ) - A murder suspect accused of killing his wife and children has been arraigned on three counts of first degree murder and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
Jayalakshmi Nerusu was arraigned Sunday morning, a day after a Novi police department investigator and and F.B.I. special agent flew him back from India.
The extradition process was expedited after Nerusu waived legal proceedings in India on April 22, 2013.
Nerusu is accused of killing his 37-year-old wife, Jayalakshmi Nerusu, and their two children, 14-year-old daughter Tejasvi and 12-year-old son Siva, on October 13, 2008.
Nerusu is being held at the Novi police department.
