SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich., (WXYZ) - A gas leak that closed Van Dyke between 23 and 24 Mile Roads that forced evacuations has been brought under control.
A valve in the area released natural gas in the area of 23 Mile Road and Van Dyke. The valve worked as it was designed during an over-pressure situation. The valve has since been closed
The air is clearing and roads will reopen.
Residents and workers can no go back to their homes and businesses.
Shelby J unior High School is closed for the day.
