(WXYZ) - Friday proved to be a big day for one local dog. “Lucy” from Highland earned top honors on national TV during the annual Mutt Show on ‘The View.’
Lucy was adopted from the Michigan Humane Society in Rochester Hills. In a Facebook post, the Humane Society identified her as “A three-year-old terrier/irish wolfhound mix.”
Lucy and her owner, Beverly Larsen, appeared on ‘The View’ for the show’s annual Mutt Show segment. The annual show runs every year to promote the adoption of pets at the same time the big Westminster Dog Show is going on.
Lucy was named “Best in Show” among viewers’ dogs. At the end of the show, she took home second place honors in the overall competition.
On the Michigan Humane Society Facebook page, their Vice President, Michael Robbins wrote, “All of us here at the Michigan Humane Society are just so proud of Lucy!”
“We want to congratulate Beverly for choosing adoption,” he said.
