BRANDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Oakland County Medical Examiner officials say the death of a 4-month-old Brandon Township boy was caused by blunt-force trauma and has been ruled a homicide.
County sheriff officials say in a release Friday that Brandon Township fire personnel found the unresponsive infant lying on the living room floor about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
He later died at a hospital.
Authorities say the child's 27-year-old male caretaker, who is the boyfriend of the infant's mother, was the only adult in the home with the infant. His 4-year-old daughter was sleeping at the time of the incident.
The unidentified caretaker was taken into custody and remains in the Oakland County Jail. He is expected to be arraigned during weekend.
