BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WXYZ) - A man suspected in several robberies in Oakland County finally got caught after breaking into a home in Birmingham.
Lucious Brinson, 27, has been charged with home invasion, possession of breaking and entering tools, and possession of a controlled substance.
Troy police had been tailing Brinson because they suspected him in robberies in Troy. They followed him to a neighborhood in Birmingham and caught him breaking into a home in the 1100 block of Old Woodward.
The area is a gated condominium complex called Woodward Place of Birmingham.
Brinson tried to run from police, but officers boxed him in and arrested him.
Police found a lot of jewelry in Brinson’s vehicle along with a pillow case, shoes, and other stolen items. They also found bags of marijuana in his vehicle.
Brinson was arraigned in 48th District Court with a bond of $25,000 cash surety.
He posted bond and was released with court information.
Police said Brinson has an extensive criminal history.
