ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) - A 22-year-old Maryland woman is charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl from Rochester Hills.

Roseanne Valesco Balagot has been charged with 3rd degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. She is a citizen of the Philippines, but a resident of Essex, Maryland.

Police say Balagot flew to Michigan from Maryland over the Thanksgiving 2011 holiday to meet the girl. Officers say Balagot then took the girl to an eastern Oakland County area hotel where she sexually assaulted her.

The victim's parents reported the assault in January after finding evidence of it on their daughter's Facebook account. Investigators were able to use the evidence to identify and locate Balagot.

She was taken into custody by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigations and officers of the Baltimore County Police Department.

Officers say that once in custody she made statements that confirmed she knew the victim was underage.

Balagot was arraigned in Oakland County District Court on July 12. She is locked up in the Oakland County Jail on $75,000 bond.
