(WXYZ) - The Michigan Department of Transportation is launching a new project to resurface about 10 miles of westbound I-96 in Oakland County.
The resurfacing project will run from Novi Road to the Oakland/Livingston county line, which is just west of Kent Lake Road.
Most of the work will be done during the night time hours. On weekdays lane restrictions will be in place from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The restrictions will be extended to 8:00 a.m. on weekends.
However, westbound I-96 will be reduced to a single lane near Beck and Wixom roads during two weekends for concrete patching.
The $4.4 million project is expected to be completed sometime in mid-November.
