WIXOM, Mich. (WXYZ) - A medical student from Wixom who had been reported missing in New York City has been found safe.
Police say 34-year-old Aimee Angle-Zahn was found Tuesday in good condition at the YMCA located at Broadway and West 63rd street. Her mother Debbie Angle released the following statement after her daughter was found: "Aimee has been found safe in NYC by a wonderful detective in the NYPD. We are thankful to God and all of the wonderful people who were instrumental in her safe return. She will be home in MI by Friday to spend a quiet weekend with her daughter. I'll have more news later. Love and good wishes to all."
Aimee was apparently kicked out of her Manhattan apartment Thursday over a rental dispute. Her mother and father, who live in Wixom, say they received an e-mail from her saying she was looking for a place to stay. They booked her a hotel room but she never checked in. That's when they reported her missing.
Aimee is a fourth-year medical student at Cornell's Medical School in Manhattan, but has been on leave for the last several months to deal with a seizure disorder.
