SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (AP) - Southfield-based real estate company, Farbman Group is getting ready to host its annual Detroit-area food drive for the fourth consecutive year.
The food drive will benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. The much needed event will be held Tuesday, January 29, at Farbman Group office buildings in Southfield, Bingham Farms, Troy and Detroit. The "Christmas in January" the food drive aims to raise awareness for community outreach throughout the year.
Gleaners recommends donating high protein canned items such as peanut butter, tuna fish, salmon, ham and beans. There is also a need for individually packaged healthy snacks for children, such as fruit cups, cereal bars, snack crackers, pretzels and 100 percent juice boxes with no added sugar. Personal care items such as toothpaste, deodorant and soap also will be collected.
