Michigan State Police investigate deadly crash in Farmington Hills

(WXYZ) - The Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Farmington Hills. It happened on EB I-696 just west of Orchard Lake Road around 1:30 p.m.

Witnesses say a '95 Jeep Cherokee was traveling eastbound on I-696 when it lost control during a lane change. The Jeep drove through the drainage ditch and landed in the shrubs.

Michigan State Police say a 22-year-old male died in the crash. His identity is not being released pending notification of his next of kin.
