NOVI, Mich. (WXYZ) - Novi Police are warning residents about a man and a woman who are targeting older adults at their homes.

Police say the woman will approach the resident and use various stories to gain access to that person's home.

Once inside, police say, the woman will distract the homeowner while her male accomplice sneaks in and steals jewelry or cash.

The woman is described as being about 5'3" tall and between 30 and 40-years-old. She is heavy-set with a round face and dark, collar length hair. Police say she has a medium skin tone.

The man is described as approximately 6' tall with a thin build and short dark hair. Police say he has a medium skin tone.

They are believed to be traveling in a white Ford Edge or Explorer.

Police say residents should keep their houses locked and not allow any strangers inside.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Novi Police.
