PONTIAC, Mich. - Oakland County Sheriff deputies are investigating the death of a 4-week-old baby boy Sunday morning.

Sheriffs were dispatch to Leonard Lane in the city of Pontiac on a baby boy that was unresponsive.  Deputies performed CPR prior to the infant being transported to the hospital.

The baby boy was pronounced deceased at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital a short time later.

According to a release, the 25-year-old mother was visiting her grandmother, who has custody of the 4-week-old.  The report said the mother of the child had been consuming alcohol Saturday evening.

It appears that she may have fallen asleep on the infant.

Sheriff deputies arrested the mother on an outstanding contempt of court warrant for failure to appear in a court hearing. The 25-year-old also has three other kids, ages 8,7 and 5. Child Protective Services previously removed those children from her custody.

Once the investigation is complete it will be forwarded to the Oakland County Prosecutor's office for review.
