TROY, MICH (WXYZ) - Oakland Mall is celebrating spring with its signature event, Butterflies! The exhibit will open March 16- April 7, 2012 on the lower level near JCPenney.
Admission to this interactive exhibit is free. Visitors can tour the butterfly house and interact with over 275 live butterflies in their special habitat from 10am- 7pm daily. They can also take a photo with a butterfly, create butterfly crafts, view a life-cycle kiosk, and adopt-a-butterfly to take home.
Adopt-a-Butterfly kits are available for purchase for $8, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Children’s Miracle Network. Each Adopt-a-butterfly kit comes with 2 caterpillars and food so that you can experience the miracle at home as they form their chrysalis and eventually become butterflies.
Oakland Mall is located on the northwest corner of John R and 14 Mile Road and is open from 10 am – 9 pm Monday through Saturday and 11 am – 6 pm on Sunday.
