(WXYZ) - Amy O'Rourke spoke with Action News just one day after her husband Patrick was killed in the line of duty.
Still she has a special video message she recorded with 7 Action News that is posted in its entirety here. Watch it in the video player on the left.
She is holding her youngest child Stephen, 8-months-old and the son her husband Patrick wanted very much. They also have 3 daughters, Eileen, 10, Mary, 8, and Andrea, 4.
Officer O'Rourke was with four fellow West Bloomfield Police Officers who responded to a call of shots fired at a house at 10:10 p.m. Sunday.
A gunshot through a bedroom door killed O'Rourke.
It was fired by 50-year-old Ricky Coley who later took his own life. Coley was going through personal, legal and financial troubles and was being evicted from the family's house.
A mass for her husband is set for Friday at St. John's Catholic Church in Fenton.
Amy and other family members plan to attend a candlelight vigil set for 7:45 p.m. tonight at the West Bloomfield Police headquarters on Walnut Lake Road.
And a trust fund has been established for the couple's children under "The Patrick O'Rourke Family Trust" and contributions can be made at any Bank of America branch.
