FERNDALE, Mich. (WXYZ) - Owner of Dino's Lounge Dean Bach appeared on Action New This Morning and cooked up his own Garden Fresh Chili.
Bach will participate in Cowboy Chili Cook-Off Sunday in Ferndale. The event will benefit Camp Casey, which provides horseback riding programs for children with cancer.
It takes place at noon in the parking lot of Dino's Lounge (9 Mile and Woodward).
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 8 and under.
Dino’s Garden Fresh Chili Recipe
o INGREDIENTS
• Ground Beef 2 lbs.
• Pork Chops 2 lbs. (Season and char-grill pork chops, dice and add to chili while simmering)
• Minced Garlic ¼ Cup
• Salt ¼ Cup
• Water 2 Cup
• Black Beans (drain) ½ #10 Can
• Brooke Chili Beans #10 Can
• Dry Basil ¼ Cup
• Chili Powder ½ Cup
• White Pepper 1 Tbl.
• Jack’s Special Medium Salsa (From Garden Fresh Gourmet) 32 oz
o COOKING DIRECTIONS
• Cook ground beef on large (3 gallon) soup pot (Do not drain)
• Add all seasonings and mix will… Let simmers for 10 minutes
• Add beans, pork and Garden Fresh Salsa
• Simmer for 2 hours adding water as needed for consistency
