ERIN, Tennessee (WXYZ) - Petie, a four-year-old Jack Russell terrier, is happily back home in Tennessee following a three-month, 600-mile journey that ended in Oakland County, Michigan.
He captured hearts in metro Detroit when he was discovered wandering around a backyard in Rochester Hills.
He was brought to the Michigan Humane Society 's Rochester Hills Center for Animal Care. Vets there found his microchip which revealed how far from home he really was.
MHS volunteers brought Petie back to Tennessee to be reunited with his 73-year-old owner Jim Arrigi on October 27th.
The tail-wagging alone revealed how excited Petie was to be back home.
