AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Planned Parenthood of Mid and South Michigan is suing the owners of the Comfort Suites Hotel in Auburn Hills, saying the hotel is unfairly trying to stop Planned Parenthood from opening an abortion clinic.

Comfort Suites has deed restrictions over the use of a building located in its parking lot. The restrictions say the building can be used for an office or for retail. When Planned Parenthood bought the building, it did not disclose that it planned to open an abortion clinic.

Brenda Savage of the Oakland County Right to Life group says "They [Comfort Suites] thought it would be an office, not a surgical suite, an entirely different situation. Now they end up defending themselves in something they never should have been involved in."

Calls to the Planned Parenthood Office in Ann Arbor were not returned.
