SOUTHFIELD, Mich., (WXYZ) - A high-speed police chase involving a child ended in Southfield early Monday morning.
Police say they responded to a call on the 80 block of Leonard near Auburn and Paddock. Upon arrival a woman told police her boyfriend stole her car with a 3-year-old in the backseat.
Oakland County Sheriff's Department discovered the 29-year-old suspect and car in the area. A chase began when the suspect refused to pull over and fled the scene.
It began on westbound Orchard Lake Road and continued to southbound Telegraph, Northwestern Highway I-696 and finally Lasher Road where it ended near the Lodge Freeway.
Polic esay there were no injures and only minor damage to four patrol cars.
Police say the suspect was arrested and the child was returned to the mother.
No further information has been released as to why the suspect was running from police.
