ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Royal Oak Police say they have arrested a suspected serial bank robber in connection with eight robberies across Oakland County stretching back four months.
The suspect was taken into custody following the last in the series of robberies. That robbery occurred Wednesday at around 12:40 pm at the TCF Bank on Crooks Road.
Officers say in that case a man walked in with a handgun and demanded money from a teller. He ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police say as he ran away the man was spotted by officers. He was seen entering into a car and Royal Oak Police chased after him.
The chase went through Beverly Hills, Berkley and Southfield, ending at Eleven Mile and Greenfield when the suspect hit a Southfield patrol car. He was taken into custody without any further incident.

The investigation into the case is ongoing. It is not clear at this point exactly what charges the suspect will face.
