FARMINGTON, Mich. (WXYZ) - Police have arrested a man they think triggered a large search in Farmington Hills after a home invasion.

Terry Lamont Mays, 19, of Farmington Hills was arraigned in court on Monday on robbery charges. His next hearing will be on August 22.

The search began after a homeowner in Farmington Hills was confronted by two people in her garage, one of them toting a handgun.

The incident happened around 2:00 p.m. near 10 Mile and Orchard Lake Road. The homeowner was able to get away from the scene. After she fled, the two suspects left as well, according to a news release from police.

Farmington Hills police say they located the two suspects walking on Orchard Lake Road, but before they could make an arrest, a foot chase ensued between the officers and suspects.

Officers were able to quickly catch one of the suspects and locate the gun. Police are still searching for the second suspect.

Earlier, 7 Action News was told by police that the second suspect was arrested.
