(WXYZ) - A stretch of westbound I-94 has reopened after a semi rollover accident.
The freeway was shut down while crews cleaned up a non-hazardous spill from the rollover. It was determined that the substance that spilled from the bed of the truck was a "treated residual" of food dye.
The accident happened Thursday morning between I-75 and the Lodge Freeway when a truck contracted by EQ Detroit rolled over and spilled the dye onto the freeway.
EQ Detroit is a waste processing plant that deals with both hazardous and non hazardous materials. The company tells 7 Action News the truck was taking the waste from its facility to a landfill.
No injuries were reported.
