ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) - It pays to do nice things for people!
If you live in Royal Oak, you might just be rewarded for your good deeds. Royal Oak Police Chief Corrigan O'Donohue announced that the department is participating in the nationally recognized Random Acts of Kindness Week.
The Royal Oak Police Department is partnering with Lockhart's BBQ to reward citizens who perform random acts of kindness for others in the community.
Lockhart's BBQ donated gift cards to the department and police officers will hand them out to people who are observed being good citizens.
“We view this as an opportunity to say thank you to the citizens in our community who have shown us overwhelming support for their police department,” says Chief O'Donohue.
Officers will be looking out for people who help neighbors, obey traffic laws or go out of their way to do good things for the City of Royal Oak.
