SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - The eastbound lanes of I-696 are now open following a semi accident between Southfield Rd. and Greenfield Rd.
The westbound lanes remain closed.
Both lanes of the interstate had been closed for more than three hours after a semi jumped the median about 6 a.m.
Police on scene tell 7 Action News the truck was also leaking diesel, creating a hazmat situation.
The driver was taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries are not known at this time.
