Fatal accident closes local lanes of eastbound I-96

DETROIT - A serious accident closed the local lanes of eastbound I-96 on Detroit's west side for hours Monday afternoon.
Witnesses day a SUV on the service drive veered left and hit a tree before rolling onto the local lanes. A woman was ejected from the vehicle and killed.
The woman's 12-year-old son was also hurt in the accident and taken to the hospital. We have no word on his condition.
