The South Oakland Shelter has been named a Champion in Action by WXYZ-TV and Charter One.

Founded in 1985, SOS works with homeless families and individuals to address the challenges the face. After 25 years, SOS recognizes that homelessness cannot be stopped by simply providing a roof and a hot meal. Homelessness is a cycle that must be addressed through various methods for those who are, or are in danger of, becomming homeless.

Utilizing advocacy and ongoing education to reduce the impact and prevalence of homelessness, SOS is the only shelter in Oakland county serving all people stuggling with homelessness.
