SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - Southfield Police are at a home on Potomac at Lahser, investigating an incident where shots were fired early this morning.
The incident happened at around 3:30 am. Monday. Police are calling it a possible home invasion.
Officers say they arrived on scene to see three suspects running towards a vehicle that was stopped on the street. They approached the vehicle and attempted to make contact with the suspects.
Police say it was at that point that the driver of the car sped forward and hit a Southfield Police car. Officers say he then backed up and gunned the car towards the officers who were standing in the street.
Those officers opened fire, hitting two of the suspects inside the vehicle. Officers say the car then left the scene.
Police chased the suspects and caught up to them a short distance away at 11 Mile and Lahser.
In all, five suspects were in the car. They are all in custody. The two injured suspects are being treated at a local hospital.
