ROYAL OAK (WXYZ) - Bill Conway has been on a mission to locate his step-brother so that he can give his step-father’s ashes a proper farewell, but the urn went missing when his car was stolen.
The 1979 Buick Electra 225 Limited Edition was gone from the parking lot when Conway came out carrying groceries Friday from the Kroger on Woodward at 13 Mile.
“They don’t realize when you steal somebody’s life how far they reach into other people’s lives,” said Conway.
Inside the classic car’s trunk were Conway’s step-father’s ashes. He had been carrying the urn for a week as he tried to locate his step-brother.
“I’m angry and sad,” said Conway. “Angry that it’s gone, and sad that it’s a bad way for something to happen to one of your parents. That’s pretty low down.”
The car is similar to the one pictured above, but Conway describes the car’s exterior as having three shades of green. The interior is lime green crushed velvet. Anyone with information should contact police.
