(WXYZ) - Drivers in Wixom watched in horror as a train barreled down the tracks and plowed into a pick-up truck along Beck Road north of West Road.
The driver of the truck, a man reportedly in his 70's, was able to get out before the impact.
According to witnesses at the scene Sunday afternoon the driver in question accidentally took a turn onto the tracks from another intersection not far from the collision. After driving along the tracks the man somehow got stuck.
After getting out of the pick-up witnesses say it appeared he tried to push the truck, but gave up as the oncoming fright train approached.
