ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Royal Oak police are looking for a man who smashed through the window of a bicycle store and left with an expensive bike.
Stephen Straub of American Cycle and Fitness says a man threw a cement block through a window at his store on Woodward, north of 12 Mile.
Surveillance video shows the suspect entering the store and quickly heading to a bicycle in the back.
According to Straub, he walked out of the store with a 2013 Trek CrossRip Elite. The bicycle was grey in color and valued at about $1,270.
Royal Oak police say the theft occurred at about 10:40 p.m. Monday.
This is not the first time an expensive bicycle has been stolen from this American Cycle and Fitness location. Store representatives say a $4,000 Trek full suspension mountain bike was previously taken by a man who, they say, matches the look of the man in last night’s security video.
If you recognize the man in the video or you know anything about the crime, please call Royal Oak police.
