HAZEL PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - A 42-year-old woman from Warren was arrested after reportedly causing a chain reaction crash that ended with a vehicle into the Hazel Park Adult Education building on 9 Mile Road.
The incident happened Monday morning around 10:18 a.m.
Hazel Park Police say Latanya Lloyd was driving erratically and first struck the back of a Ford Focus. The impact resulted in the Focus crashing into a Ford truck. Lloyd reportedly continued driving and struck another vehicle, a 2008 Dodge Nitro.
The vehicle was forced off the road and into the lobby of the education building.
Two people inside the building, a security guard and a female Hazel Park resident, were taken to the hospital with non life-threating injuries.
Investigators believe Lloyd consumed prescription narcotics and was operating the vehicle under the influence of the drugs.
Lloyd told police she was "on her way to an AA meeting in Memphis."
She is being held at the Hazel Park jail pending charges.
