Wrong-way driver sends two to hospital

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Auburn Hills Police report two people were sent to the hospital with serious injuries after a single car accident early Monday morning.

It happened between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. when a vehicle on northbound Lapeer Road near I-75 crossed over into the southbound lanes and traveled the wrong-way.

The car hit several items including traffic signs, support rails and the concrete divider.

Two people were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Police believe alcohol was a factor.
